CHARITIES: Trustees disqualified for dubious transfers abroad
Three trustees of an international aid charity have been disqualified after the Charity Commission for England and Wales (the Charity Commission) found they could not account for GBP250,000 transferred overseas. A further GB500,000 lacked a satisfactory financial audit trail. The charity also spent more than GBP36,000 on a consultant, even though it was largely inactive and under Charity Commission investigation.
